Twins?

These two are Incredible. There are the equivalent of each other. British. American.
At New York Fashion week they were front-row at Rag and Bone (A celebrated British designer) and i love the combination. Their bone structure is very similar, they have great style and imaginably have become bezzie-friends. The way they both accessorise simple but stylish outfits is genius.

With Erin's mexican roots and Alexa's British charm, i find the match uncanny, Erin's style follows a more Rock n roll/hippy route where as Alexa loves the vintage/preppy look. They are both massive fans of Karl Lagerfeld and remind us that some of the best looks don't just come from the runway but also the FRONT ROW.

After visiting Somerset House on Thursday night for the opening of London Fashion Weekend i took some pretty good photos and will upload them next time after i have found the cable!!
And unfortunately didn't quite make the front row.
(Next time!)

Above and Beyond

So i recently discovered beyondretro.com and i love.

Flicking through the pages of mixmag last month i spotted this insane bodice/top covered in multi-coloured sequins. The model rocked it and sold it to me, in the corner of the page it said it was from beyondretro.com which is a website with a whole load of vintage clothing from evening tops to denim jackets, belts to bikinis. It has this really quirky 70s/80s vibe although stocks clothes 'that chronicle a century of style'.

The most fascinating part of the website is the "DESIGN ARCHIVE".

Offering original vintage print swatches and specialist vintage garments. The items range from glass beaded 1920's flapper dresses to 1950's tea dresses, vintage denim to over 6,000 fabric swatches. In order to view this incredible collection the showroom is by appointment only and client confidentiality is high.

i celebrate the wide 'source of vintage knowledge and research' thats put into finding some of the creations there that shape what we wear today.

i absolutely love the vintage clothes on this website and the shop is definitely worth a visit.

NYC.

So New York Fashion week kicked off on Thursday.  Buyers are expecting a major 70s influence but as the shows build over the next few days the trends of the coming fall will become apparent.

There is supposedly a different vibe at NYFW, in europe fashion has more of a cult status and therefore tickets are hard to come by. I wonder who will be sitting front row? Anna Wintour wearing Chanel Couture? The olsens twins are favourites along with fashionistas Olivia Palermo and Rachel Zoe.

Fashion week parties are where its at and who's at. Its only the Third day at NYFW and so far we have;

Blake Lively at The amfAR annual Gala
In Alexander McQueen

Alexa Chung at Barneys New York Honors Carven's Guillaume Henry

In Carven

Nicole Richie at Bergdorf Goodman Cocktail party which she hosted.
In House of Harlow

I will have tickets to DVF 4pm Sunday, Herve Leger 2pm tuesday then J Mendel at 6 pretty please.

Let the week Commence. The following week London displays what it has to offer the fashion world.
What a busy time of year; bloggers will be blogging, buyers will be buying, photographers will be flashing and journalists will be flexing their wrists ready to write the best reviews.

Around the world.

I had a dream last night about when i went travelling to Australia and it reminded just how incredible it was so i browsed my 1500 photos and picked out my favourites. I travelled with 3 amazing girlies and met some fascinating people along the East coast where i stopped off at Sydney, Byron Bay, Surfers Paradise, Brisbane then finally my favourite Airlie beach and the Whitsunday Isles.  These photos are a collection of memories that i regularly find inspiration from. Enjoy.

The Ragged Priest

There are always some great finds on the bottom floor of Topshop Oxford Circus. As i was trawling through the numerous rails of vintage/customised/inventive clothing i came across 'The Ragged Priest'. Ingenious.

I found a pair of high-waisted, black suede shorts customised with blunt silver spikes down the seams. YES PLEASE. Costing £35 i decided to purchase them and am still yet to wear them (i waiting to find the right top.)

Intrigued by by this design i googled it when i got home. The website is 'under construction' but they have their own store on eBay which has some amazing items. (i am loving the eBay stores too, i know it takes quite a lot of time to scan through but some serious hidden gems.)
